Weekly Pool Cleaning Duties
Weekly pool cleaning service consists of brushing the waterline and tile, skimming the pool surface, and netting debris from the floor.
- Brushing will be performed if floors or walls are dusty.
- Vacuuming will be performed if dust is persistent after brushing the week prior or if the time to remove debris is more than it would take to net.
Chemistry
Pool chemistry will be managed every service without exception—for example, rain, lightning, hail, and hurricanes. Pool sanitization is our top priority.
We will always maintain 2 to 5 parts per million chlorine and between 7.0 to 7.5 pH.
- These two parts of pool chemistry are what keep the pool sanitized.
Calcium will be maintained between 300 and 500 parts per million.*
- This maintains optimal water hardness.
Alkalinity will be maintained between 40 and 100 parts per million.*
- This is a buffer for PH changes.
CYA will be maintained between zero and 30 parts per million.**
- This is an oxidizing inhibitor.
*Calcium and alkalinity do the job of protecting the pool surface and tile.
**CYA does the job of holding chlorine in the water longer by slowing its ability to oxidize organic matter. We don’t use it unless it is absolutely necessary.
Periodic chemicals/as needed
- Phosphates remover reduces the active fertilizer level, which decreases algae growth, reduces the need for high chlorine levels, and reduces excess chlorine consumption. We treat phosphates for free.
- Active enzymes the eat oils and other contaminants that chlorine cannot destroy
- Water clarifier helps to trap more material in the filter
- Natural copper algaecide
Filter Cleaning
- Filters will be cleaned when the PSI gage is 10 PSI above the clean filter PSI reading, or if the flow rate has decreased visibly.
Equipment
- We check the equipment for functionality and leaks every week.
- We do not turn on heaters, lights, or air blowers to check them on a regular basis. This is a home watcher’s responsibility.
- We will send a quote via email if problems are found.
Inclement Weather
- Rain, lightning, hail, or high winds will result in a chemical-only service.
- We do not make return trips due to inclement weather. We will come out after the storm for a service call fee of $100.
Hurricanes and Floods
- In the event of a natural disaster, we may do a heavy chemical-only service in preparation for the storm ahead of schedule.
- All pools will be assessed for damages within a week of the storm passing and a quote via email will be sent with a plan to clean and repair if regular service is unable to be rendered.
Cleanup Fees
- Pressure washing decks into the pool may result in an added service charge of $100 or more.
- Excessive landscaping debris may result in added service charges of $100 or more.
- Green cleanups start at $300 per 10,000 gallons.
Short Term Rentals
- Short term rentals will be charged a high bather load fee of $60 monthly.
- A sanitization fee of $300 will be charged if there are beer bottles, condoms, or other ridiculous trash found in the pool. Short term rentals should be treated as commercial pools and spas. As such they should be maintained three days a week, meaning commercial standards. This will remove the $60 fee and provide a better bathing experience.
Standalone Spas
- Spas that are standalone will be treated with bromine instead of chlorine.
- Bromine feeder will be provided if there is not one or if it is broken for $50.
- Standalone spas will be drained and filled as needed to maintain sanitation at a fee of $100.
Invoicing
- Invoices will be sent out through email and can be paid online or by mail.
- All invoices are due within 15 days of invoice being issued.
- Late payment will result in a 10% late fee.
- Any invoice over 90 days will be sent to collections.
